Traces of Trentham
These interlinked trails take you on a journey through the rich heritage of Trentham, concentrating on its Victorian and Edwardian roots.
Originally a village dominated by the workings of the grand Trentham Hall and surrounding estate,
it has transformed into a dense residential area, but remains in close proximity to the Trentham Estate, a popular leisure destination.
Trentham Hall and its gardens and the wealth of the Dukes of Sutherland are crucial to the history of Trentham,
but you can discover that story within the perimeter of the Gardens. These three trails aim to draw your attention to traces of Trentham that can be found on foot
or online, outside the gardens.

The Routes
Green Route - Trail around surviving buildings of the Trentham estate
Black Route - Trail follows the route of the Trentham Park branch line
Red Route - Trail along Longton Road and its mix of buildings
Heritage Walk Round Trentham Village
This circular walk was devised in 2016 as part of Trentham's first Heritage Open Day. It has a World War One emphasis.
It has been retained as it contains some additional information to the trails above.
